POLICE have expressed concern after two railway detonators were stolen sometime between 9pm on Monday night and 9.45am on Tuesday morning.
A number of detonators were laid on the tracks between Marquis and Carroll streets on Monday night, with the intention of being collected at 9.45am.
Police were alerted once workers realised two of the small round devices were missing.
Police said in the wrong hands, the detonators could be quite dangerous as they were classed as minor explosives.
Detonators are used to inform train drivers of upcoming track work, and also to let track workers know of oncoming trains.
Police urge anyone with information to contact the station on 6742 9099.
POLICE were again called to the railway tracks this morning, after reports of a break and enter into demountable work sheds and nearby machinery.
Six portable two-way radios were stolen overnight from a demountable work shed on the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) work site near the Gunnedah Railway Station.
Police said thieves also gained access to two trucks, with a CD player stolen from one.

an 18-year-old male will be issued a negligent driving infringement after losing control of his vehicle on Tuesday night.
The young driver was travelling south on Wandobah Road in a silver Ford Falcon utility, when he lost control of the vehicle and came to rest in a table drain near the Gunnedah Rugby Park.
Police said it appeared the young male was distracted by his mobile phone.
The driver was taken to Gunnedah Hospital for assessment and will be issued a fine.
