The CWA has this year focussed on Botswana as its country of study, and guests of honour at the event were Gunnedah residents Michael and Anne Masige, who lived in Botswana for close to 14 years.
Michael, who was born in Uganda, spoke about the time he and Anne had spent as teachers in Botswana. He said moving from Uganda to Botswana had been “more of a culture shock than moving to Australia” because the people were so different.
Another feature of the event was a zebra dance by Gunnedah CWA member Jill Andrews.
