UPDATED 1PM: A PLANE has made an emergency landing in a paddock near Gunnedah this morning after issuing a ‘mayday’ call with reports of engine trouble.

The two-seater plane, later revealed to be a training aircraft from the base in Tamworth, was reportedly flying with a second plane and was forced to land in a paddock at the property “Top River” just before 11am.
The property is located around 16 kilometres south east of Gunnedah on the Pullaming Stock Route.
A pilot and passenger were on board the plane and no one was injured.
A NSW Ambulance Service spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the Gunnedah Airport at about 10.47am to reports of an aircraft having engine problems.
Local authorities then liaised with air traffic control to determine the plane’s co-ordinates.
NSW Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service crews and police units responded to the landing spot before the Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended the scene and transported the crew back to Tamworth Airport at around midday.
11am: THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been tasked to the Gunnedah area after a plane was forced to perform an emergency landing.
A NSW Ambulance Service spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the Gunnedah Airport about 10.47am to reports of an aircraft having engine problems.
It is understood the plane has landed in a field nearby.
A pilot and passenger were on board the plane, no one was seriously injured - according to paramedics.
