Bridget, a Tokyo Olympian in 1964, was cheered on by Gunnedah in 2000 when she carried the Olympic torch through the streets while riding Kibah Tic Toc - a horse she had bred on her property Kibah, between Gunnedah and Carroll.
Kibah Tic Toc climbed to Olympian heights at Barcelona in 1992, ridden to double-gold medal glory by Matt Ryan.
Relatives and friends of the late Bud Hyem are respectfully invited to attend her funeral.
A cremation service will be held in the Alston Chapel of the Lincoln Grove Memorial Gardens, Gunnedah Road, Tamworth, starting at 11am on Thursday, March 6.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dementia Australia at the chapel.
