Kasey has had a number of solo exhibitions for his oil paintings including four in London and 45 of his oil paintings are now hanging on the walls of the Work of Art Community Gallery, including local scenes from the Namoi River, Wean and Kelvin areas.
Scenes from Kasey’s travels in Italy and around Australia are also part of the exhibition, which will be open until December 21.
An artwork painted by Kasey on the opening night of the gallery in August was auctioned on Saturday night by local auctioneer Bert Hewitt, with spirited bidding from guests.
The painting went under-the-hammer to a phone bidder from Gosford who had visited the gallery the week before, for $1300, with the funds to be donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Gallery owner Chris Burgess said the exhibition is the first for the newly formed gallery and the opening was a successful night.
“It was a great success, we sold six of Kasey’s paintings and four other paintings in addition, as well as gained some strong leads,” Mr Burgess said.
“We are looking forward to hosting many more exhibitions in the future.”
The Work of Art Community Gallery is located at 118 Barber Street, Gunnedah. Phone 6742 0549.
